Platform Update - 29 October 2026
This release includes the following new features and bug fixes:
New features and enhancements
Client Portal improvements
The Client Portal now shows more policy and cover details.
Improved instalment fee billing
Instalment fees can now be billed separately from premiums, allowing for more accurate financial reporting and General Ledger accounting. Fees continue to be included when calculating scheduled payment amounts.
Improved Client Portal access management
Further to policy owners getting access to Client Portal when a policy is issued, users can now add and remove client portal access via the client management screen. Learn more about Client Portal access.
Add a description when cancelling a policy or rider
When cancelling a policy or cover, you can now capture a customer-friendly note, which can be configured to display in customer correspondence. This feature can be enabled on request, and document templates need updating to use it. Contact Simfuni to set it up.
User login name added to data extracts
The user data in data extracts now includes each user's login name. Claim payout approvals, claim provisions and reinsurance receipts record the user by login name. These records can now be matched to the user who created them.
Clearer delivery status for emails and SMS
Emails and SMS that can’t be delivered (for example, a missing email address, invalid mobile number or bounced email) are now marked Failed to send on the client’s Communications tab. Hover over the status to see why.
Date notified defaults to today when lodging a claim
The Date Notified field in the claim lodgement wizard now defaults to today’s date. You can still change it if needed.
Bug fixes
Clearer transaction names in Past Payments
Manual transactions now show accurate, consistent names on a policy’s Past Payments screen.
Month-end payment days kept at renewal
Renewing a policy now preserves payment days scheduled on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month across monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly plans. Previously, date calculations passing through February caused these payment days to permanently slip to the 28th, occasionally delaying the first payment of the renewed period.
Waived bank transfer payments are no longer collected later
If you waive a premium on a policy that pays by bank transfer while that payment is still waiting to arrive, the waiver now stays in place. Before this fix, the system could later treat the waived instalment as overdue again and collect it through a retry.
Improved payment scheduling
Fixed an issue where certain payments, including arrears retries and reinstatement payments, could be delayed. These payments will now be attempted on their scheduled dates.
Client Portal policy status fix
Fixed an issue where inactive policies could incorrectly appear as active in the Client Portal, ensuring policy statuses are displayed consistently.
Half-yearly payment fixes
The 6-monthly option now shows as “Half yearly” across the portals. Switching to or from half-yearly now schedules every remaining instalment correctly. When changing a payment date, the date picker now opens on the next upcoming payment, not the policy’s first payment date.
Policy schedules show the latest payment method
Policy schedules now show a changed payment method straight away. Previously, a schedule generated while the change was processing could show the old details. Applies to templates that include payment method details.
