Viewing Policies, Items and Covers

Learn how to access policy details and understand key sections including premiums, items, and covers.

  • User permissions: Invoice read or invoice update

 

Finding existing policies

There are two ways to find policies within Simfuni:

  1. From the Policy list page.
    1. Navigate to the Policies page from the left main menu. This will display a list of all policies, searchable by policy number.
  2. From a client page
    1. Navigate to the Clients page from the left main menu.
    2. Search for and select a client.
    3. The first tab, Policies, will display all policies associated with that client.

 

Viewing policy information

After selecting a policy, you’ll be taken to the Policy page. Key areas include:

Policy

The Policy tab provides details on the coverage and premiums. It displays:

  • The current policy version and term. If a pending renewal exists, a banner will show to switch between the pending renewal version and the current version.
  • The current annual premium amount. This is the total annual amount for all items on the policy.
  • The items (Live Insured). This section shows the coverage for the policy, categorized by item. Each item can be expanded to display:
    • Which specific covers the item has
    • Which dates the coverage is effective from
    • How much the premiums for each of the applicable covers cost
    • The personal details that are used when rating the item
    • Any beneficiaries who have been designated to receive benefits from the policy

Client details

On the right hand side, key client information will be shown. This will show any saved contact details, such as a phone number, email, or address. If multiple contact methods are saved, for example the client has a home phone and a work phone, only the preferred contact details will be shown. Payment summary

Below client details, a summary of payment information is shown. This indicates the current payment status, for example if payments are up to date, overdue, or scheduled for a future date. It also provides functionality to change payment details on behalf of the client, including their payment method and payment frequency and date.

Premium summary

This is simply the total cost of the premiums for the current term, including the cost of any endorsements if they are effective but excluding them if they're not effective yet.

Policy options

Below the payment and premium summaries you may see other policy options if they are applicable to the policy. Available functionality in this section will depend on the insurance product configuration. It may include product configuration that can be altered at a policy level if needed, such as enabling or disabling automatic CPI increases at renewal.

Notes tab

The notes tab has all the notes that have been saved to the policy specifically, displayed in reverse chronological order from newest to oldest. The note is saved along with a timestamp and the name of the Simfuni user who added it. These notes are not visible to the client, they're for internal use only. You can add new notes using the New note button in the top right corner.
